Assistant Finance Controller

I am working with a private equity-backed healthcare company who are looking to hire an Assistant Finance Controller on a permanent basis. After receiving substantial PE funding, the company has adopted a stringent buy and build strategy. They have currently acquired over one hundred smaller businesses within the UK and achieved a YoY growth of 60%. They are hoping to exit within the next three to five years and are being led by a CFO who has already led two successful exits. The Finance Controller that this role will report into has also been through one exit.

The Role:

• Oversee and assist with the production of the monthly management accounts; variance analysis with budgets and forecasts.
• Cash flow management.
• Take responsibility for recording and reporting all financial transactions.
• Assist with setting monthly KPIs for the board and investors.
• Assist with balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support the Finance Controller in preparing statutory accounts and liaise with the auditors at annual review.
• Review the financial plans and budget regularly assessing where there may be opportunities for cost reduction.
• Assess the accounting systems; and suggest where improvements can be made.

The Requirements:

• Must be ACA/CIMA/ACCA (or equivalent) qualified; Big 4 ACA trained candidates will be at a significant advantage.
• Previous experience within a private equity-backed business is preferable, but not essential.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team are necessary.
