Elevation Recruitment Group are pleased to be working in partnership with a fast growing and dynamic manufacturing firm in Sheffield as they look to strengthen their accounting team with the hire of a Commercial Accountant. The business already operates across several global locations with plans to open an additional sales office in Europe.

They are currently looking for commercially minded accountant, ideally from a manufacturing environment that can work closely with the Sales Director, Procurement Director and Group Financial Controller. The main purpose of the role is to undertake the commercial accounting piece for group, providing support to the Group Supply Chain and Procurement function, overseeing the financial analysis for new product development and ensuring product profitability.

This will be a varied and challenging role with duties to include: -

* Provide consolidated Group reporting from operating companies in the UK and foreign entities
* Providing analysis of product gross and net margins
* Work with the New Product Development team to analyse new product financials, including calculating payback periods and ROI
* Provide forecasts for future purchases to assist third party manufacturers in their planning and assist in negotiations
* Monitor and manage ongoing costs through the product development process
* Prepare rebate claims to suppliers and calculate the monthly Group rebate accruals
* Analyse tooling costs and oversee the monitoring and auditing of tooling assets belonging to the Group
* Oversee financial aspects of the tendering process for new products
* Manage and influence the Group's pricing files, including costs for delivery
* Assist in negotiations for product pricing
* Involvement in the Group's Patent Box and R&D Tax Credits claims
* Input to the monthly FX policy discussions as part of the FX Committee
* Monitor the risk profile of the business and develop adequate controls to mitigate risks
* Assist in annual audits
* Develop and continuously improve business reporting, including development of the SAP system
* Any other ad-hoc duties and reporting as and when required

The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate the following qualifications and experience:

* Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ ACCA or ACA)
* Ideally from a manufacturing background
* Commercially minded
* Strong analysis skills, able to analyse and interpret critical information
* Demonstrable experience of adding value through reporting/analysis
* Ability to influence at all levels
* Ability to work cross functionally
* Excellent Excel abilities

This role will be integral in helping to shape the direction of the business through accurate reporting as well as providing detailed commercial analysis. You will also have the opportunity to get involved in a number of exciting and challenging projects as the business goes through an exciting phase of development and growth.
