Finance Manager | Clapham | Fast-Growth Fashion Business

Harmonic Finance are proud to be recruiting on an exclusive basis with a fast growth fashion business. The business are on track for a bumper period of growth which will take the organisation from £30-50 million turnover within 3 years.

The Senior Finance Manager will report into an ambitious Finance Director (also recently recruited via Harmonic) who regards this hire as pivotal in delivering his vision for a best-in-class international finance function. The role- providing opportunities for excellent coaching and mentoring opportunities- would therefore suit a candidate who is 'upwardly-mobile' in their career aspirations rather than an individual seeking a steady, business as usual position.

Company culture

Although their growth trajectory is market-leading, the business is extremely non-corporate, and our meetings in the offices were notable for a good deal of laughter in the workplace. The office environment is a converted Victorian mansion block located opposite one of the most popular restaurant and bar districts in South London. The company social scene is subsequently active for those who wish to participate!

The leadership team's outlook on flexible working arrangements is very forward-thinking: start and finish time is flexible, and many colleagues work from home regularly.

The role

As Finance Manager, your role will be integral to the success and continued growth of the business. You will take responsibility for the balance sheet and group cashflow forecasting which relates to a series of complex supply chains (manufacturing largely focussed in Asia). While the preparation of monthly UK management accounts and consolidation of the group management accounts will also sit within your remit.

Although there will be a heavy emphasis upon technical accounting and reporting within the role (involving liaison with both UK and international auditors), you will require the communication and influencing skills to finance business partner with operational colleagues on the senior leadership team. The role will also require supervision and management of 1-2 junior colleagues who will handle more transactional duties.

Very occasional long-haul travel to meet with regional suppliers and manufacturing executives may be required.

Career development prospects

The first 12-18 months of the role will be viewed as an audition for becoming Financial Controller for the business.

What we need to see

  • ACA Qualified
  • Experience of working for a product/stock-focussed business.
  • In-depth knowledge of international product supply chains, including imported inventory.
  • Previous experience of owning the delivery of consolidated group management accounts.
  • Demonstratable technical understanding of what constitutes a 'best in class' financial controls, reporting and compliance environment.
  • Business partnering skills - ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders across the business.

Package and benefits:

  • 60k-70k+ Bonus
  • Unlimited holiday

Please forward an up-to-date CV in the first instance to be considered for interview.
