With an instantly recognisable brand, and a turnover of over $1 billion worldwide, our client's Finance Department is currently seeking a Tax Compliance and Reporting Manager. Reporting to the Director of Tax, this role will have overall responsibility for UK tax compliance and group tax reporting, in particular:

Preparation/review of corporate tax returns for c. 15 companies using Alphatax
Preparation and filing of Research and Development Tax Credit claims
Quarterly and year-end reporting for the consolidated group under IFRS and US GAAP
Preparation of tax notes, disclosures and commentary in single company and consolidated IFRS statutory accounts, in the group’s monthly management accounts
Provision of tax analysis to support senior management’s interactions with shareholders, lenders and other stakeholders
Assisting with and reviewing the preparation of P11Ds; The company's annual PAYE Settlement Agreement (PSA); and certain overseas filings relating to company activities at key business 
Ensuring full-compliance with controls and processes required for Sarbanes-Oxley purposes
Identifying and implementing improvements in tax reporting, systems and processes where required
Coaching, supporting and supervising the work of a part-qualified Tax Assistant, currently working towards ACA qualification
Working with, and supporting, the tax department’s International Tax and Indirect Tax managers
Close liaison with other managers and staff working within other areas of their Group Finance Division

The role will be based in HQ's in Central London where the 5-person Tax Department is located. The role will also require regular visits to the group’s Media and Technology Centre in their South East London regional office.

The successful candidate will have the following experience and qualities:

An appropriate professional qualification with approximately 3-5 years' post-qualification experience either in practice or as part of an in-house team; Excellent Microsoft Excel skills including formulas pivot tables and V look ups; Extensive practical experience of preparing (preferably using Alphatax) and reviewing UK corporation tax returns; Extensive practical experience of consolidated tax accounting under IFRS and ideally also US GAAP, underpinned by an excellent understanding of the underlying tax accounting standards; Highly numerate, with an ability to identify trends and anomalies in accounting and tax information, and to drill-down to isolate underlying causes and issues; Excellent verbal and written communicator - able to give succinct explanations of complex issues to non-specialists; confident in communicating at all levels in the organisation; Motivated principally by a desire to deliver a very high-quality finished product and to act as an enabler for the rest of the organisation
