Permanent Project Accountant, York, £36,000 + study support, good holiday & pension scheme

You will be working for an educational company based in York.

Your new role

You will be reporting to the Head of Finance and will be responsible for controlling and monitoring income and costs on multiple projects including variance reporting and forecasts, highlighting risks and proposed actions. Monitoring and reporting any issues regarding impact of revenue. Processing monthly journals, balance sheets, accruals and deferrals, reconciliations, monthly cashflow forecasting. Assisting with annual budgeting, review and approve purchase and supplier orders, monitoring commitments ensuring items no longer required are closed. Checking monthly payroll, verification. You will be responsible for liaising with finance teams, , project delivery teams and support function teams, assisting with understanding and management of allocated responsibilities supporting as required.

There will be a requirement to travel to other office locations in London & Edinburgh on as required basis but should be no more than once a month and may require in exceptional circumstances a night away form home.

What you'll need to succeed

You will be a part or fully qualified accountant with a proven track record of working on both long and short term projects with experience of working as part of a project team and in developing, working and maintaining budgets and forecasts. Experienced with a range of databases or CRM systems with excellent IT skills especially use of spreadsheets with strong numeric and analytical skills. A collaborative and supportive working style towards colleagues and a solutions focused approach.
