Established international organisation Based in Barnet , Hertfordshire ,urgently requires an experienced Financial accountant /Manager to work closely with the Financial Controller and the CFO to produce timely and accurate Financial and Management information on a weekly and monthly basis. Working as part of a very busy team based in the UK and liaising with an outsourced overseas shared service centre ,duties will include.
- Management and review of the UK & Ireland monthly close timetable in conjunction with the outsourced finance team in India.
- Preparation of accrual and provision journals for centralised global charges and reconciliation of associated balance sheet accounts
- Review of branch and head office operating overheads
- Review of capital expenditure
- Preparation of accounting entries for allocation of centralised costs among branches
- Management and evaluation of key CSL's relating to the performance of the outsourced team, for discussion with the Head of Finance Operations and CFO for UK&I
- Production, review and evaluation of balance sheet reconciliations
- Review, finalise and submit industry compliance reports e. national statistics surveys, submissions
- Management and communication of the quarterly intercompany process within the group
- Production and distribution of key management reports
- Liaise with finance systems and FP&A team to produce and distribute reports highlighting daily / weekly volume trends
- Production and distribution of trading statements providing detailed P&L information for stakeholders across all levels of the business
- Finance business partner for non-accountants
- Providing back-up data, technical knowledge and support for key stakeholders when reviewing monthly reports
- Systems enquiry expert to establish reasons behind variances seen in reporting
Qualifications & Skills
- Financial / management accounting experience gained within a large company is essential
- Experience of working in the leisure/hospitality/Hotels industry (preferred)
- Strong hands on experience of Balance sheet reconciliations ,internal and external audit processes,statutory financial statement preparation,intercompany accounting and tax compliance issues
- Working within a multicultural environment with ability to take on a managerial role in the future
- Experience of working with an outsourced service provider (preferred)
- Part-Qualified / Qualified Accountant (ACA / CIMA / ACCA) with proven experience .
- Study package available for future development
- Confident and pro-active attitude
- Credible in the face of challenges from senior management
- Excellent communicator, can explain complex issues succinctly to non-accountants
- Strong Presentation Skills with ability to analyse and present data to director level
- Strong Computer knowledge / IT skills
- Advanced level Excel skills and proficient in Word, PowerPoint
- Knowledge of business intelligence tools (e. Essbase)
- Knowledge of consolidation tools (e. HFM)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience of large global organisations using outsourced /shared service centres will be an advantage
