Assistant Accountant

My client, a renowned retail group based in central London, is seeking an Assistant Accountant to bolster their finance function.
Reporting into the financial accountant, duties of the role include, but are not limited to:

* Month-end accruals and prepayments journals
* Daily bank and branch float reconciliations
* Assisting with balance sheet reconciliations and month-end reporting
* Liaising with auditors and HMRC
* VAT and other compliance

Alongside knowledge of both AP and AR, the ideal candidate will be a capable communicator, allowing them to work with AP, AR, retail stores and external stakeholders. Experience in retail or a related industry, as well as experience using Navision, will be considered advantageous.

You will have a university degree, ideally within accounting or finance, and/or be studying towards a professional accounting qualification. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with a strong base of experience, looking to develop their financial accounting acumen in a well-known, growing company.
