Client Accountant - Residential. OUR CLIENT is a well-established, respected and expanding national firm of Chartered Surveyors are now looking for a Residential Property Accountant.

The role will be responsible for accurate and timely production of accounting reports to clients and production of reports for internal management. You will also be responsible for a portfolio of property management instructions of varying sizes and complexity.

THE ROLE of the successful candidate will assume the following responsibilities:

  • Preparing Client statements of income and expenditure.
  • Preparing manual Trial Balance templates from the above client statements.
  • Preparing VAT reports and reporting arrears.
  • Reporting cash flow, preparation and on-going maintenance.
  • Preparing financial reports in accordance with Duty of Care agreements.
  • Preparing and maintaining of occupational cost schedules.
  • Raising ad-hoc rent, insurance and other tenant charge demands.
  • Liaising with credit control regarding tenant receipts.
  • Assisting management surveyors with any property related matters.
  • Assisting management surveyors with setting service charge budgets.
  • Working closely with the service charge accountants to reconcile annual service charge accounts and invoice balancing charges.
  • Liaising with auditors regarding service charge.
  • Maintaining data held on Database by liaising regularly with property managers, clients and tenants.
  • Liaising with clients and solicitors in relation to preparation of completion statements for new lettings, property purchases and disposals.
  • Maintaining accurate records and filing all relevant material in our electronic paper storage system.

THE PERSON: To apply, you MUST have several years' experience in a Residential property accounting role. It is essential that you must have used a Property Management system such as Yardi/Qube/Tramps and have a good working knowledge of double entry book keeping, trial balances, income statements and balance sheets. The successful candidate will be a good team player with strong interpersonal skills as well as having a proactive approach to problem solving.
