Role

My client is looking for a Senior Strategic Projects Manager to have joint oversight of some of the business’s key projects, working with some of the major stakeholders to roll out strategic projects both nationally and internationally.

You will be working on projects that will directly contribute to the company’s success, representing opportunities to develop new products, and launch initiatives designed to reduce operational costs. Reporting to the Exec Team you will have relevant operational and project management experience with demonstrable examples of successful major projects results.

This is a great opportunity to join us at a strategic phase of transformation and growth, providing you with a unique platform to showcase your capability, and influence/support the development of new products. You will have an analytical mindset with excellent communication and rapport building skills, and the ability to influence and collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and implementing the projects lifecycle and overseeing delivery of them.
  • Product strategy; identifying new product opportunities and working with the product team to deliver them.
  • Ongoing analysis of feedback to provide succinct summaries and syntheses of feedback in a manner that helps to shape and define any emerging strategic framework.
  • Ensuring that project impacts are measured and reported according to set company standards and regular reporting of lessons-learned to senior stakeholders.
  • Plan, prioritise and implement required tasks to ensure successful and timely delivery of projects.
  • Manage projects, stakeholder feedback, evaluation and periodic monitoring/reporting systems.
  • Draft professional reports & documentation and develop business and operational models.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to ensure successful execution of strategic projects by facilitating the translation of strategy and ideas into tangible actions and developing robust plans.
  • Determine appropriate project delivery methodology including governance suited to individual project needs.
  • Facilitate business readiness / change management and adjust assignments and expectations accordingly.
  • Set up and maintain programme governance (clear roles and responsibilities assigned, clear methods of communication/decision making, up to date plans, issue/risk management, agreed business level requirements).
  • Develop, communicate and drive project schedule commitments; proactively working with teams to resolve any issues/blockers.
  • Ensuring clear internal communication of the projects, engaging with stakeholders where required to maintain awareness and momentum.

Requirements

  • Play a key role in the development of cross-functional business cases to be presented to Executives for approval.
  • Gather and synthesize relevant data, lead analyses and develop recommendations to support key decisions and mitigate risks.
  • Prepare post investment appraisals of strategic projects, providing insight and recommendations to aid future decision-making.
  • Proven project management skills, with the ability to define, lead and manage the process within a complex multi-brand and regional business – a project management qualification would be advantageous, though not necessary.
  • In-depth understanding and extensive experience of using financial and commercial drivers in order inform and challenge strategic plans and decisions.
  • Experience of creating deliverables for C-level audiences and challenging the assumptions of senior colleagues
  • Advanced quantitative and qualitative analysis.
  • Business writing and presentations.
  • Excellent people management skills.
