Group Financial Controller

Working as part of an experienced financial team, the Group Financial Controller will report to and assist the Group Finance Director on a day to day basis with the financial oversight of the business and with project work.

This will include:

  • financial management and reporting including the preparation, presentation and review of financial information
  • advising and working with the operational teams on financial matters, both in the UK and internationally
  • helping with the financial assessment of new work opportunities
  • financial project work
  • working capital management
  • working with key funding partners
  • assisting in the acquisition process and the onboarding of acquisitions
  • special ad-hoc projects

Desired experience, skills and person specification

You will be a commercially minded Accountant who is able to demonstrate a strong understanding of the financial controls and processes required for a consulting business. You will have worked in a similar role before and be keen to assist with the improvement of the financial management, processes and procedures of the business. You will be a qualified Accountant and have strong IT skills.

  • Accounting qualification - ideally ACA, ACCA or CIMA with previous experience within a Finance Controller capacity
  • Minimum of 10 years post qualification experience
  • Experience of working in a consultancy or professional services business preferred
  • Experience of working in an entrepreneurial environment preferred
  • Up to date Accounting and technical knowledge
  • At least Intermediate Excel Skills
  • Personable and confident
  • Strong personal skills – diplomacy and persuasiveness
  • Methodical and organised
  • To work to a high level of accuracy and with a keen eye for detail
  • Able to drive change 
  • Willing to travel in the UK and Internationally
  • Foreign language skills advantageous but not essential
