We build and repair embassies. We safely move government servers to the Cloud. We make sure critical deliveries stay safe as they move across the world. And on top of all that, we make sure we provide UK taxpayers with value for money.

Naturally, that wouldn’t be possible without the work of our Finance team here in the UK. As our Financial Accountant, you’ll help our business comply with accounting standards and government regulations, making sure there are robust financial controls in place across our business. And in doing that, you’ll make sure our organisation manages public money to the very highest standards, to provide services that protect people, assets and information everywhere.

Provide timely reporting that makes a difference time after time

You’ve never once let a deadline go by: you’re prompt in everything you do, and your financial reporting is no exception. As a qualified and deeply experienced accountant, you’ll ensure all our financial accounts are accurately prepared, whether it’s monthly reviews or the year-end close process. Your detailed financial analysis will provide real insight on our business’ income, expenditure and balance sheet, and thanks to your thorough assessment against previous performance and future forecasts, we’ll always know how we’re doing and where we’re heading.

Provide advice to a business that supports government advisors

You’ve got a wealth of accounting wisdom – and you don’t keep it to yourself. You provide your team with technical support and advice on all aspects of financial and management accounting. In fact, you’ll even provide knowledge and support to your line manager, including annual report contributions and feedback on National Audit Office matters. You believe in sharing knowledge, and you keep an eye on how we can all improve, whether it’s developing and strengthening our internal controls and processes, or reviewing new standards to understand how they could apply to our organisation.
