Our exclusive client is a market leader within the engineering sector who has recently received backing from one of the UK’s leading Private Equity Houses. The business now has an aggressive growth strategy in place to capitalise on its previous success and drive the business through the next phase of its journey. They will do this by reaching further into their chosen markets using a proactive sales and marketing efforts, acquiring new businesses to expand into new markets which complement their current offerings, and expand into new customers within their existing markets.

To facilitate this growth plan they are looking to appoint a commercially astute Financial Controller to become a valued member of the Management Team and establish themselves as the ‘right hand’ person to the Managing Director and wider business.

The incoming candidate will support with the implementation of business strategies and objectives; manage and develop a strong financially and operationally focused finance function and drive commercial decision making.

They will produce reports and insightful commentary suited to that of a Private Equity backed and ambitious SME, working closely with the wider business to drive operational performance and efficiencies; and take full control of commercial finance for the business.

The appointed candidate will be a qualified (CIMA/ACA) Accountant able to demonstrate a successful track record working in a commercial and operational finance role within a relevant industry such as contracting or electrical contracting. Experience of managing stakeholders including banks and PE investors is essential, as well as proven evidence of being part of a successful growth story.
