A fabulous opportunity for an ambitious and diligent part qualified to join a growing, part PE backed business with an evolving finance department. As a result, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to develop and take on more responsibility as the team responds to the above changes in the environment. Currently the team comprises: A Group Reporting Manager, a Group Systems Manager, Financial Reporting Manager and two Business Analysts. The principal objectives of the team are to provide accurate and timely external and internal reporting with appropriate analysis, to provide support to the BU’s in preparing the BU and Corporate submissions as well as providing financial insight to the CFO and Senior finance leadership team to effectively manage the business.
Primary Duties & responsibilities:
To assist with regular internal monthly reporting for the Group. This will involve preparing and posting consolidation journals, preparing management accounts and Board slides.
To assist with external reporting including the Group statutory accounts and year end audit. This may involve preparing statutory disclosures, preparing audit schedules, and checking the accounts. It is also likely to involve some reporting to our shareholders.
To support the Financial Reporting Manager as required but likely to involve improving reports to make them more automated, implementing new reports to improve controls over the integrity of numbers and performing analysis to better understand the Group numbers.
To own the intra-group mismatch eliminations.
To be able to support the Group Systems Manager with the consolidation system (HFM) and act as a backup to free up her time to enable her to concentrate on HFM projects. This will be a longer-term project.
Respond to ad hoc queries as required.
You will be:
Educated to graduate level & actively studying for a relevant professional qualification.
Solid foundation of finance experience that supports your part qualified status.
Strong Excel skills.
Financial accounting as well as management reporting experience. For example, preparation of statutory accounts, posting journals, interpreting financial data etc.
Able to adapt and cope with ad hoc requests.
Able to cope with multiple demands.
Work under time pressure.
Be a strong team player and be comfortable to pitch in and help if needed.
Strong communication skills and willing to provide updates on status and flag issues if they occur.
Able to take responsibility and be accountable for outputs.
Focus on accuracy and quality of output and integrity of numbers.
Attention to detail.
Questioning style and able to ask or challenge if something doesn’t look right.
Motivated and willing to learn.
