The Role
 
As a Finance Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the financial health of the business through a wide variety of finance and administrative tasks.
 
Specifically, you will:
 
- Undertake the efficient and accurate preparation, input and maintenance of data into the financial systems
- Raise sales invoices and credit notes ensuring complete and accurate recording of transactions into ledgers
- Provide analysis on awaiting POs and work with the operational team to identify and alleviate issues
- Liaise with internal departments to raise new jobs and maintain the finance job list.
- Be responsible for the management of employee timesheets and ensuring prompt completion
- Train new employees on the time sheet system and be first point of contact to resolve any issues
- Reconcile and post into the accounts any petty cash movement
- Be responsible for the timely processing of employee expenses and credit cards ensuring full documentation is provided
- Provide ad hoc analysis of expenses and credit card spend
 
About You
 
To be considered as a Finance Assistant, you will need:
 
- Strong administrative skills
- A desire to work in finance
- The willingness to learn new skills and increase your knowledge
- To be mathematically proficient and have the ability to work confidently in Excel
- A positive attitude
- The ability to thrive under pressure
- A high level of confidentiality and the ability to apply discretion where appropriate
- To have excellent interpersonal and face-to-face skills
- Excellent attention to detail
 
Although not essential, a degree level qualification (2:1 and above or equivalent) would be beneficial to your application. The intention to obtain accountancy qualifications and to have completed an internship within an accountancy or finance department would also be an advantage.
