Financial Accountant

A growing and forward-thinking company in Hemel Hempstead is seeking a qualified Financial Accountant to join their successful finance team on a full-time, permanent basis. Responsibilities of your new role

The core duties of your new Financial Accounting role will include:

• Preparation of complex period end balance sheet reconciliations
• Ensuring the accuracy of all financial records and preparing the period end accounts with commentary and insight
• Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations prepared elsewhere in team and in an offshore facility
• Posting journals and approving journals prepared by team
• Liaising with internal and external auditors and preparation of US GAAP to UK GAAP workbooks
• Proactively providing all internal customers with analysis and support, with a focus on exceeding budget
• Proactively reviewing and working within company policies, standard operating procedures, company and legislative updates to ensure you are working in line with best practice and business risk is minimised
• Working with French Accountants on French legal entity VAT reports and other ad hoc queries
• Reconciliation of intercompany balances and journals to eliminate intercompany trading/reclass balances at Quarter end
• Project work on system integrations/upgrades

Candidate requirements

The business is looking for applications from ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified Accountants who demonstrate:

• Previous experience in a similar Financial Accountant role
• Very strong communication skills and the ability to effectively liaise across teams
• The ability to work in a changing and challenging environment
• Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills
• An advanced level of Excel required for detailed analysis using Pivot tables
• The ability to work independently with minimal supervision and under rigid time constraints

Salary

The successful Financial Accountant will be offered £45,000 - £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
