My client is looking for a seasoned Financial Controller to join a radically growing Real Estate development business based in Central London, undertaking all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as the development of internal control policies and procedures. The business has gone from strength to strength since its establishment in 2013, rapidly becoming a key player within the London & South East commercial development market.
In addition to maintaining controls, you will be working very closely with the Finance Director to strategize and help forecast for future growth. As well as business partnering with several heads of departments to ensure efficient reporting standards and gathering essential data to produce accurate reporting information.
Key responsibilities,
- Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and Counsel, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
Essential qualifications & experience,
- Recognized accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- At least 4 years PQE (Preferred)
- Proven track record working as a Financial Controller, preferably within an SME
- Working knowledge of IFRS & UK GAAP
- Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
- Strong commercial acumen
- Excellent communication skills
