The Management Accountant  role is responsible to provide timely and relevant financial reports, ensuring information from different sources (Cargill Business Services, Tax, Treasury, Financial Risk Management, Management Information & Decision Support and other functions) is available, consolidated and understood. The position holder is accountable for financial statement assurance, working closely with stakeholders to provide a small to medium sized controllers review package (CRP) a rigorous, analytical financial statement review. The Management Accountant will work with a team of other specialists. The position holder will be based in Manchester which produces sweeteners, wheat protein and alcohol for customers in the confectionery, brewing, drink, dairy, farming and bakery sectors.

Main Tasks of the Management Accountant:

• Responsible for the preparation of regular monthly reports of Corporate Finance, Statutory purposes and local management reporting
• Accountability for the outcomes of all accounting and financial reporting activities for a controllers review package (CRP)
• Manage the Annual Statutory Audit as appropriate
• Monitor relevance and accuracy of the different sources of information
• Manage aspects of the monthly closing of the General Ledgers ensuring the financial data accuracy
• Contribute to estimates of the final Annual Operating Expense preparation at month end
• Assist in the yearly budget preparation
• Support review of Balance Sheet Accounts reconciliation
• Maintain relevant RTR data
• Support  the Intercompany accounting and asset accounting
• Accountable for aspects of US GAAP reporting for the relevant CRP
• To be a business partner, closely cooperating with commercial, supply chain and other business and project managers to understand the local business challenges and strategies 
• Ensure segregation of duties and robust controls are followed
• Ensure compliance to Cargill policies and procedures
• Respond to any financial questions or concerns from general management, FP&A, A&F, regional or global teams by explaining data related to local business reporting.

Qualifications of the Management Accountant:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or qualified through ACMA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA
• Proven experience with US GAAP reporting
• Experience in capital management
• Experience in Record to report (R2R) process improvement experience
• Proven ability to understand key business drivers and how to translate these into meaningful reporting
• Demonstrated ability to operate in a culture of continuous improvement and process optimisation
• Experience in working with finance shared service centres for RTR related work
• Demonstrated ability to understand and use technology to improve process and control
• Experience with Activity Based Costing is preferred
• Experience with variance analysis statistical tools is preferred
• Understanding of pricing transfer mechanisms is preferred
• Be able to perform in a high performing team environment
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Demonstrate flexibility and ability to deal with ambiguity
• Understanding and experience working with JDE and or SAP, strong MS Office and Excel (pivot tables, V-lookups, graphs)

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in fluent English
