Dartmouth Partners are working exclusively with a luxury property developer based in South West London to find them a Financial Controller. The business specialises in development and construction of high-end residential properties within prime locations across England and has seen exponential growth over the past few years.

Having recently received significant investment from a boutique private equity house the company is poised to expand further. The Financial Controller will be a key hire in their continual growth and the ideal candidate will be able to step up into a Finance Director role in short succession. The role will be highly commercial having a broad remit encompassing core finance alongside strategy and operations.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Full oversight the financial and commercial functions across the business
  • Partner with the Managing Director to bring the strategic vision of the business to life
  • Developing and executing an exit strategy for the business in conjunction with investors
  • Cultivating stakeholder relationships internally and externally
  • Responsible for compilation of annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and weekly cash flows.
  • Liaise with banks and investors, acting as primary contact with funders and be responsible for regular review of funding, including sourcing new funding
  • Take an active role in developing and driving the strategic focus of the organisation
  • Leadership of a small finance team including upskilling current workforce
  • Taking a wider operational remit covering HR & IT
  • Monitor banking activities of the organisation 
  • Review and monitoring of statutory accounts & tax position, calculations and filings 

Desired Skills and Experience: 

  • Significant Experience working within private equity backed businesses
  • Experience working within a construction or house building environment
  • Chartered Accountant or similar qualification
  • Extensive experience in developing relationships with demanding stakeholders
