The Financial Accountant will work with the Financial Accounting Manager to ensure accuracy and integrity of the balance sheet for all companies within the Business Group with a focus on stock, fixed assets and cash. Responsible for managing 3 direct reports.

Client Details

A leading retailer and wholesaler, predominantly based in the UK but also with an International presence. Based in Leeds City Centre.

Description

The Financial Accountant will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the balance sheet is always correctly stated
  • Fixed assets reporting
  • Review and add commentary to the reports produced before distributing through the business
  • Overall responsibility for the accounting for stock including all balance sheet reconciliations, monthly journals and reporting to the business
  • Provide cover & support for the cash flow forecasting
  • Acting as a key point of contact for the Banks
  • Responsibility for VAT and Tax
  • Develop the current systems in place and identify any projects for priority to help business processes to become more effective
  • Responsibility for a team of 3 including the management of their development

Profile

The Financial Accountant will be:

  • Qualified Accountant - essential (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Excellent numeracy and literacy skills
  • Keen attention to detail and critical self-review
  • Will happily challenge the current processes in place and review & implement change and as such will add value through creation of improved tighter processes
  • Ability to positively challenge and influence at all levels of the business
  • Commercially minded
  • Strong Communicator, both internal and external
