Financial Controller - Leisure Business.

A fast growth sport and leisure business requires a hands on Financial Controller that can work with the MD on the continued growth and strategy of the business, as well as on developing the financial control environment.

Incredibly fast paced and dynamic, the business calls for a like minded candidate that can meet all reporting requirements as well as act as a true business partner to both internal and external stakeholders.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Management and development of the finance team - Currently 3 additional staff.
• Production of value adding monthly management accounts and information.
• Management of the month end process.
• Responsibility for budgeting, regular forecasting, and the provision of regular analysis and KPIs for the executive team.
• Working with the Auditors on year end accounting duties.
• The development of internal controls, finance systems, processes, and procedures.
• Assist the MD and other senior management with the development of the long term strategic plan.
• Work with the MD on a range of new initiatives and launches.
• Act as business partner to the wider business, and assist in performance management and decision making.
• Oversight of VAT, payroll, and all tax requirements.

Candidate profile:

• Fully qualified accountant.
• Experience from the leisure, sports, or retail sectors would be a distinct advantage.
• Excellent technical accounting and financial reporting experience.
• The proven ability to assist in the commercial decision making process.
• A proven business partner to a range of stakeholders.
• First class communicator, with the ability to present complex information to non-finance staff.
