Luton or Hanover
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller Treasury, the Manager Bank Reconciliations will be responsible for the management of the Reconciliation Teams at TBS (currently for Source Markets UK and CE) and our offshore partner WNS in India.
You will have overall responsibility for the staff ensuring the proper and timely reconciliation of our internal customer’s bank and control accounts. Assistant Managers will support you in doing so for each Source Market. As the Manager Bank Reconciliations you are working in an international, matrix-organized environment. You will be expected to build positive working relationships with all key stakeholders (i.e. in-house clients) and our offshore partners, drive continuous improvement processes and provide cover and support for the Financial Controller Treasury to deliver a best-in-class service.
As the Manager Bank Reconciliations you will be responsible for ensuring the reliable and timely bank and control account reconciliation for our in-house clients, work together with our internal and external auditors and drive the development and improvement of the reconciliation processes performed within TUI Business Services. In your role you will be responsible to ensure the performance and effectiveness of our offshore partner(s), that journals are properly processed and mismatches are investigated, i.e. you will coordinate the preparation of bank and other balance sheet reconciliations within the Banking area of responsibility and act as reviewer of the completed reconciliation. You will work together with our external auditors and will be responsible for coordinating and managing the month end financial closing process for the bank reconciliations team, including (but not limited to):
1. Ensuring that key interfaces (SAP and Reconnet) have accurately and correctly posted data and liaising with the relevant support team to resolve issues
2. Maintaining an overview of status of outstanding reconciling items for bank accounts and the plan for their clearance
3. Reviewing and approving GL journals within the framework of delegated authority related to the source market companies and ensuring that all relevant SAP journals are posted before the ledgers close
4. Coordinating the preparation of IFRS 7 disclosures for review and approval by the Financial Controller Treasury
5. Coordinating the preparation of the finance month end checklist for review and approval by the Financial Controller Treasury
The role requires you to work in various projects (often as a member, sometimes as a leader) within TUI Business Services and our internal customers and/or to assign and supervise team members from the Bank Reconciliation teams as appropriate to such. Projects will include the on-boarding of new group companies onto the TUI SAP Group Finance Platform as well as to ensure newly on-boarded companies will meet the group’s quality requirements and reporting deadlines in a reasonable time after on-boarding.
As the Finance Manager Bank Reconciliation you are expected to constantly thrive for TBS to develop into the international Finance platform for TUI Group. This includes proactively looking for opportunities to improve our processes and technology, exploring new ways of working as well as playing a significant role in developing our digital culture in your area.
You will be the face for our internal stakeholders, proactively liaising and ensuring effective communication with them. Further, you will frequently report on KPIs, issues and solutions to the team and senior management of our customers.
You will develop and improve the teams to ensure TBS Finance is always able to provide best-in-class services in an ever-changing environment, this includes you being the first point of contact for the team and will take responsibility for setting team members objectives, regularly reviewing performance and completing annual and biannual appraisals. You will be responsible for ensuring the timely resolution of queries escalated by the teams and for ensuring the Bank Reconciliation team is compliant with internal and external regulatory requirements (e.g. COSO controls).
