Job Specification

To provide financial support to non-finance stakeholders and senior management.  Jointly with the Managing Director, to take responsibility for all management accounting activities, regulatory and financial reporting and treasury functions, as well as help construct budget and financial forecasts.  To spearhead the development of internal control policies and procedures and to constantly seek to improve financial controls and processes, as well as monitoring business trends within the company and its customers. 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Manage our Finance Team
  • Manage all financial operations of the company including reporting, invoicing, cash management, stock control, sales ledger, purchase ledger, nominal ledger, fixed assets and payroll
  • Preparation of Management Accounts and month end reporting including balance sheet reconciliations
  • Interpret and present to the Chairman and Managing Director financial analysis and provide insights and recommendations to manage and control profit margins, reduce waste and implement efficiencies
  • Preparing statutory accounts and year-end reporting, including taxation
  • Adopt a pivotal role in financial planning, budgeting and forecasting
  • Provision of weekly MI and KPI reporting, including analysis
  • Assist in the accurate costing of products
  • Take responsibility for treasury management reporting, including cash flow on a daily basis
  • Review constantly and identify improvements for all financial systems including stock management and shop retail systems
  • Maintain and develop relevant control policies and procedures and at all times ensure statutory compliance
  • To be seen as a principal contact for banks, auditors, taxation and insurance
  • Ad hoc duties when required

Candidates Profile

Ideally you will be a qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA) with 5 years + PQE who can work with non-finance and senior stakeholders within the business, providing decision support and analysis.  Experience in an all-round, hands-on Financial Controller position in a manufacturing environment would be highly advantageous but is not a pre-requisite for this role.  A good knowledge of Sage accounts will also be advantageous.
