In-House Employment Tax Manager required for Global Retail Company


Your new company
Your new company is a household name and multinational retailer of consumer products with more than 300 stores in 29 countries worldwide.

Your new role
You will be a Manager of Employment Taxes for UK and Ireland reporting to the Head of Tax in a team of four based in London.

Advising the business on all UK and Irish employment tax matters (subject matter expert), you must ensure that you are keeping up-to-date with tax legislation and identify when improvements/ changes to policies and procedures should be made. You will be responsible for Employment tax reporting with both the UK and Irish tax authorities (e., ROS on line reporting, P11D reporting etc.). Responsible for the UK and Ireland payroll taxes compliance thus supporting the payroll team and Payroll Manager with accurate payroll processing. Ensuring all benefits are captured and accurately processed from a tax perspective for the PAYE Settlement Agreement, Irish End of Year Settlement, P11D's, Taxable Travellers return, Short Term Business Visitors declaration and Irish SARP return etc. Ensuring that the business is compliant with its UK & IE tax/social security obligations and all relevant information is processed accurately via modified payroll for globally mobile individuals and cross border workers.

What you'll need to succeed
Preferably you will be a qualified accountant ACA/ACCA and or a Chartered Tax Advisor CTA and will have served time in a similar role specialising in employment tax matters either within a large multicultural and multinational organisation or professional services firm.

You will have the ability to effectively develop relationships with a range of stakeholders in key business and support areas where employment tax issues arise. You will take ownership and will be responsible for a range of tasks. You will have strong analytical skills when dealing with data to produce accurate returns. Strong and confident communication skills, able to explain complex tax issues to non-finance individuals. You will be proactive and will take a hands on approach to deliver high quality results and someone who is continuously looking for ways of working to develop/improve systems & processes.

Some experience of expatriate tax and payroll is desirable in the role.

Base salary up to £70000 plus annual bonus (equivalent to 2 months salary as a guide) pension contribution of 4% (employee)/6% (employer) & flexible working in addition to a range of other benefits.
