ABPM as experts in financial recruitment are exclusively working with a long established and very successful construction firm to recruit a Financial Controller based in Derbyshire. The successful candidate need wo be a qualified accountant who will be responsible for all financial aspects, to oversee operation and strategise on company growth. Drive continuous improvements and be a positive and professional influence for a small competent finance team and demonsatrte the abilities and behaviours to become the Finance Director.
RESPONSIBILITIES.
- Overall control of the accounting function, including office visits and external meetings.
- Maintain and develop robust corporate control systems in line with compliance to support business growth
- Support and advise on commercial risks for T&Cs reviews and ensure manageable levels of risk.
- Oversee and managing a finance team, including mentoring and performance reviews.
- Preparation of budgets with influence from departmental management and monitor performance accordingly
- Take responsibility to ensure group meets financial requirements through reporting, accounts, tax returns and balance sheets.
- Responsible for the companies IT systems including business information and risk framework
- Ensure policies and procedures are adhered to throughout.
- Ad-hoc tasks when required.
PROFILE
- To hold an accountancy qualification - ACA/ACCA/ACMA
- Proven experience of managing a finance team and statutory reporting requirements
- Exceptional communication and organisation skills
