Job Context:
Meadow Foods is the UK’s largest independently owned dairy group, supplying added-value ingredients to the food industry across a variety of product categories including: Confectionary Ingredients, Butter & Butteroils, Fresh Ingredients and Milk Solutions. The company - founded in 1992 - has grown rapidly through a blend of organic growth and M&A activity and now operates from 3 factories in Chester, Peterborough and Holme-on-Spalding Moor and employs more than 350 people. Job Purpose:
An opportunity in a newly developed role for an ambitious and focussed skilled project manager with a keen interest in scoping new business opportunities. The role will involve producing high quality business cases to inform the senior executive of potential partnership, investment and M&A decisions. The role will also include negotiating and running standalone commercial projects and reporting into the executive team.
- Reporting into the Chief Commercial Officer
- Responsible for developing and supporting unique business projects and opportunities across our existing customer base and within customer Joint Business Plans
- Providing clear evidence and advice to senior stakeholders in assessing projects and acquisitions
- Work with the Head of Strategic Operations to provide detailed commercial proposals on key operational projects
- Play a crucial role in the negotiation process and delivery of commercial projects
- Provide project leadership of new and ongoing internal commercial initiatives
- Researching trends that may/will affect our industry and pro-actively identifying strategic opportunities and threats to the business
- Assist in the production of key investment outputs including offer letters, heads of terms, investment papers, presentation documents and non-disclosure agreements
- Aid the Chief Financial Officer with Post-implementation reviews for completed deals and projects
Must be:

- Previous Corporate Finance M&A experience
- Commercial and analytical with the ability to learn quickly and work well under pressure
- Able to brief and set clear expectations
- Driven to learn, develop and make clear progress in a new role
- Highly organised
- Strong in analysing financial data
- Able to identify their own weaknesses and proactively work on them
- Experienced in scoping and delivering new projects
- Experienced in providing commercial advice to senior management
- Experienced in a food manufacturing environment, as a preference
- Skilled at IT, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Able to develop strong working relationships across internal teams from Operations to Sales
