Financial Controller

A Financial Controller is required to support a division of a high growth business in the infrastructure sector who have recently made several acquisitions. Based in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, this Financial Controller position is offered full-time on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities of your new role

Reporting to the Divisional Financial Director and managing a small team, the Finance Controller will oversee management reporting and commercial finance for the division, constantly seeking opportunities to improve margins and quality of information for board use and decision making.

The day to day accountabilities of your new Financial Controller position include:

• Management and development of a small finance team
• Taking ownership for the divisional accounts, maintaining regular contact with the operational teams to ensure a clear view of the business activity is reflected in the numbers
• Production of Monthly and periodic management reporting to identify trends, improve forecasting and assist decision making
• Cashflow management
• Assisting with budgeting and forecasting
• Ensuring all financial transactions are recorded and fall in line with the accounts payable and receivable processes
• Identifying process improvements
• Supporting the division as a finance business partner to assist with commercial decisions and reduce risk
• Acting as contact to the group finance team and assisting with ad-hoc projects

Candidate requirements

The business seeks a Financial Controller who demonstrates:

• ACA, CIMA or ACCA qualified
• Desire to influence and make positive change to the business
• Exceptional technical accounting skills
• Fantastic communication skills with the ability to craft relationships across the business
• Previous Financial Control experience
