An FMCG business based in Wimbledon is looking for a Financial Controller for the UK & Ireland part of the business. Reporting into the business head CFO, you will enjoy a full-time and permanent Financial Controller position.
Responsibilities of your new role
In this Financial Controller position, you will have Controls, Accounting & Governance duties including:
- Developing, implementing and monitoring strong internal control environment across all business end-to-end processes
- Safeguarding adherence to all company policies and processes
- Active risk management with a focus on driving key actions
- Maintaining integrity of the Balance Sheet, ensuring clear management ownership and regular management reviews
- Managing record to Report (including month-end and year-end close), Purchase to Pay and Order to Cash processes, including Credit management, pricing and claims management
- Local tax compliance and reporting in conjunction with local advisers
- Leading statutory reporting process in conjunction with local advisers
- Leading statutory audit process and reporting, managing relationship with external auditors
- Supporting Internal Audit team and driving full implementation of any recommendations
- Managing local statutory insurance programmes
- Reviewing and approving monthly payroll and non-payroll employee tax requirements in conjunction with local HR team
Your Performance Management and Driving Sustainable Profitable Growth duties will include:
- Ownership of full P&L and steering delivery of Revenue and Operating Profit
- Providing analytics and insights to drive business performance and inform pricing, investment and innovation decisions
- Driving robust cost and investment control/budget management and embedding Return on Investment approach (Net Revenue Management, Marketing Return on Investment)
- Liaising with Supply Chain Finance to understand cost trends and capital investment requirements
- Steering monthly/quarterly forecasting cycle to produce robust forecast and clear decisions/actions/trade-offs
- Developing long-term financial plan aligned to strategic objectives and priorities
Cash Management duties of the Financial Controller will include:
- Overseeing cash forecasting process and steering delivery of cash conversion and working capital
- Driving visibility and understanding of cash drivers and required actions across UKI business
Your Change Management & Separation tasks will involve:
- Ensuring effective local implementation of Transition Service Agreements (TSAs) in conjunction with Unilever management
- Providing Finance leadership to significant TSA exits. Defining and implementing Finance processes and ways of workings post-exit
- Providing Finance leadership to systems separation from Unilever and effective and smooth UKI implementation
Additionally, you will be responsible for the Leadership & Development of a team of 4 finance managers and analysts, providing direction, support and coaching to develop individual and team capabilities to effectively support business in delivery of growth and transformation strategy.

Salary
The successful Financial Controller will be offered £75,000 - £90,000 per annum, dependent on experience, plus a 15% bonus.
