Commercial Accountant

New Commercial Accountant Role for Large Property Company Based in Salford

Our client are a large property group based in Salford. This position sits within the commercial finance team and is critical to adding value to non-financial stakeholders across the Manchester business.

Your new role

• Finance Business Partner to Senior Asset Managers for centres, supporting with the assessment of new deals and commercial decision making.
• Provide support to the Regional Director on financial matters.
• Prepare quarterly P&L reports and KPI data for centres in line with the Group reporting timetable.
• Investigate variances to forecast/budget/prior periods and provide financial and operational commentary to the Asset Management and Senior Management teams.
• Prepare annual budgets and 10-year strategic plan financials in line with Asset Managers' letting strategies.
• Line manage and mentor one direct report.
• Help drive a change in the positioning of finance from a support to a service function, driving value added insight and analysis to the business.
• Build and manage relationships with external partners including meeting their reporting requirements.
• To liaise with external partners and internal Finance and Asset Management teams to ensure the Group's financial reporting requirements and control processes are met.
• Critically review and assess the existing process environment and help drive streamlining and greater collaborative alignment with operational teams.
• To assist with queries from internal and external auditors, investor relations or other stakeholders.
• To maintain full back-up for journals, and where appropriate, to provide signed-off balance sheet reconciliations. To undertake additional duties as required.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need to be a qualified accountant with at least 1-2 years PQE. You will ideally have a big company background as well. It is critical you can communicate effectively and influence non financial stakeholders.
