Financial Controller - £80k-£90k + bonus - 9 months

Our client, a large media business, require a Financial Controller to join their team on an initial 9 month basis to cover maternity. The role is based in Central London and will report into the CFO. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Alongside the Head of Finance Transformation, to support the development and implementation of the strategy and plans for the Finance department ensuring that they meet with overall company goals and objectives.
• To ensure Management and Statutory Accounts are completed accurately, on-time and in compliance with company policy and statutory requirements.
• To deliver a high-standard of service to the rest of the business, specifically (but not exclusively) in relation to management information, financial insight, query resolution
• To take full responsibility for the performance management of the area of the Finance department under your control in order to ensure that quality and deadlines are achieved and maintained and that any issues are managed in line with company policies and procedures.
• To recruit, train, develop and motivate direct reports and oversee the rest of the team to ensure the delivery of high performance, acting as an enthusiastic, positive and motivated role model for the team.
• To support the departments in day to day duties as and when required in order to achieve deadlines whilst always maintaining quality.

The successful candidate will:

• Be a Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
• Have a strong technical background (practice background desirable)
• Experience in a senior interim finance position at Financial Controller/Head of Finance level or similar
• Experience overseeing Financial Audits and the production of statutory accounts
