Description

The main responsibilities within this role:

• Driving the profitability through detailed forensic analysis of all site profit and loss accounts to identify issues and opportunities, then with the Head of Commercial Finance, drive through actions and resolutions

• Effective and targeted analysis

• Investigative approach to accounting

• Ensuring that all key financial issues are highlighted and discussed with clear actions to resolve

• To work with the Management Accounting team to deliver accounts to the required standard and accuracy

• Clear communication of complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders

• To assist with the creation and analysis of return on investment cases

• Project work as allocated by the Head of Commercial Finance, Group Chief Financial Officer and Chief Executive

Profile

The successful candidate for this position:

• Will be strong academically and have a full recognised accountancy qualification (CIMA/ACCA)

• Must have previous commercial finance experience

• Must have analytical experience and the ability to turn financial data into useful information

• Thrives in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment

• Will possess excellent IT skills including intermediate/advanced Excel, proficient Powerpoint and confident on various management reporting systems

• Will have a detailed understanding of financial processes to be able to identify issues and opportunities

• Will have strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver 'right-first-time' results quickly without getting lost in the detail

• Will be deadline-focused and willing to put in the effort required to ensure they always meet them

• Will have a questioning mind; this person should always be looking for where improvements can be made
