Head of Finance & Analysis

I am exclusively representing a private equity-backed retail business looking to recruit a Head of Finance & Analysis in a newly created role. This role will get great exposure to working with the PE investors.

Reporting to the CFO, you will manage the day-to-day finances of the business and will be instrumental in improving the analysis and forecasting capabilities of the finance function, thus enabling more informed strategic decision making.  

What you will  be doing:

• Managing, motivating and leading a finance team of 5 
• Supporting stakeholders within the business, acting in the capacity of Head of Finance and Business Partner 
• Preparation and management of month-end process, ensuring accurate and comprehensive postings of transactions to accounting system 
• Review of results against budget and forecast providing other supporting information to understand and explain variances 
• Owning the annual budgeting process, along with providing support to decision-making, target-setting and cost control aligned to strategic plans 
• Producing the monthly board report 
• Producing KPI and dashboards for business analysis
• Regular reviews of cash planning, forward forecasting and ensuring commercial, fair and regular processing of supplier payments, overseeing credit control activity to ensure reasonable debtor profiles are maintained 

About you:

• ACCA, ACA, CIMA qualification or CFA
• Solid experience of building robust financial models
• Advanced Excel skills
• Good planner with analytical and problem-solving ability 
• High degree of IT literacy (including advanced excel) 
• Proven ability for implementing and monitoring financial controls 
• Previous experience of working for a private equity-backed business (desirable)
