Background of Assignment:
The senior finance leadership team of a major PLC requires the skills of an experienced FTSE 250/350 Group Financial Controller to perform an in-depth financial review of a c.£200m t/o operating company, that forms part of a £bn t/o division.
You will assess the operating companies' current level of financial controls, procedures, governance, compliance, forecasting and MI reporting. The focus will be to derive the level of accuracy and integrity surrounding the existing processes and the information being produced.
Subject to the outcome and findings of the review, you'll then be tasked with supporting the division's Finance Team to improve the areas which are most at risk, enabling the business to create an action plan and then execute it.
FTSE 250/350 Group Financial Controller or equivalent and will be expected to have:
- Performed the role of Group Financial Controller for a business(es) that operates through a divisional structure and is made up of multiple operating companies with a similar t/o.
- Led Group Finance of an established PLC and been responsible for all external and internal financial reporting, including annual budgets, quarterly forecasting (revenue, costs & cash-flow), strategic planning, statutory reporting and M&A activity.
- Co-ordinated divisional finance teams, directing them on group strategy, annual budgets, quarterly forecasting, group policies & procedures, reporting requirements.
- Presented regularly to Plc Board, Audit Committee and the Executive Management Committee.
