An exciting and expanding Accountancy Practice based in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire is looking for an Accountant to join their team on a full-time 12-month fixed term contract starting in August. This job would suit a part qualified Accountant who will be responsible for promoting the vision, values and culture of the business. The job involves managing a portfolio of clients, making sure strong relationships are build and maintained as well as exceeding targets and gaining client feedback.

Responsibilities of your new role

As the new Client Accountant, you will:

  • Ensure all targets for client referrals are exceeded
  • Apply the referral policy and ensure client meetings are carried out and feedback obtained
  • Manage the compliance cycle for all allocated clients ensuring all statutory deadlines are met and internal SLA's exceeded
  • Provide ongoing proactive advice on a regular basis
  • Work with New Client Administrator and Credit Control to ensure that clients' fees are paid and that no client is added to the "Suspended work & invoicing list"
  • Work with the New Client Administrator to manage the billing cycle of the client and follow procedure to have credits raised, invoices stopped if necessary
  • Work with the team to continually measure, examine, develop, re-engineer and implement the continuous improvements of accountancy operations, systems, procedures, service levels and policies to improve productivity, effectiveness and profitability of the operation
  • Ensure you maintain knowledge of relevant legislation to ensure that the services provided to clients meets the regulations including IR35, MSC, Personal and Company Taxation, HMRC Rules & Regulations, Company Law and Reporting and Money Laundering Regulations
  • Ensure that all agreed performance measures are reviewed and measured monthly with defined action plans to achieve or exceed the targets
  • Ensure your Performance Development plan is reviewed at least quarterly with Operations Director

Candidate requirements

To be considered for this Accountant opportunity you will need to demonstrate:

  • Team playing abilities and excellent communication skills
  • Previous experience working in a practice environment
  • The ability to confidently offer tax advice
  • Strong IT skills with the ability to adapt and learn new skills quickly

Salary

The successful Client Accountant will be offered £30,000 - £32,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
