A PE backed retail business is looking to identify a Financial Controller for an exciting portfolio acquisition. Based in Nottingham, this Financial Control position is offered full-time on a permanent basis.

The Financial Controller will work closely with an experienced PE CFO and play an integral part in the overall running of finance within the business, taking overall management and development of the finance team. This is a 'hands-on' finance role and candidates with an impressive technical skill set (process, systems, attention to detail etc) will be preferred. About the role

The Financial Controller will report directly into the CFO, taking overall responsibility of all aspects of the finance function. This is a true controlling role and, while business facing, the main deliverables are focused on the more technical aspects of the overall financial running of the business. The successful individual is expected to be the key finance representative when it comes to 'getting things right' and an advocate of best practice across the business.

Key responsibilities

The key duties of your new Financial Controller position will include:

• Overarching end to end management of the finance function
• Improvement and development of financial processes, information and value-add across the business
• Executing wider finance strategy, collaborating closely with CFO and senior leadership team
• Management and development of the finance team (c. 8 people Qual, PQ, transactional)
• Managing audit relationship
• Development and delivery of excellent board and PE level reporting

Person profile

The business seeks an ACA or ACCA qualified Financial Controller with a background in a larger practice but also some industry experience. Applications should also demonstrate:

• Strong character and the ability to work with multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced PE backed business
• Standard costings experience
• Working capital and cash management experience
• Asset based lending experience
• Multi-site retail experience is desirable
• Retail and process improvements are desirable
• Team management skills

Salary

The successful Financial Controller will be offered £70,000 - £80,000 per annum, dependent on experience, plus competitive benefits.
