Senior Financial Accountant

Highly innovative, progressive and rapidly expanding PLC group have an opportunity for a talented, qualified finance professional at a large site in Lincolnshire.

This is a dynamic and modern-thinking group that lead the way in their manufacturing specialism (FMCG Food manufacturer).  Internationally operating, highly professional, innovative and fast-paced business where the career opportunities are unrivalled (huge scope to progress locally or internationally).  

They have a requirement for a qualified accountant at the business in Spalding. Working within the large and complex site the opportunity involves working in a fast-paced, autonomous production environment.

Your role will be extremely involved and broad and the Head of finance is seeking an individual who is technically strong, commercially minded and proactive nature.  Remit is very broad with business as usual elements as well as project involvement.

Areas include: daily reporting, rolling reforecasting, budget holder support and influence (to control overheads, manage cost and spend and ultimately support profit growth plans), capex / working capital, cashflow reporting / forecasting, group reporting, statutory accounting, balance sheet integrity, systems and process improvement, development of controls, non-finance partnering, team leadership, continuous improvement.

The role would suit someone who enjoys working with a decent degree of autonomy and is comfortable in a fast paced setting (retail / manufacturing / distribution).  The processes are well managed but the business is seeking a fresh pair of eyes to sharpen up the controls, processes and reporting – there is lots of scope to add value and gain commercial exposure.

The business is growing, making fairly frequent acquisitions, there is tons of scope to progress internally and a very broad range of examples of people who have done so rapidly and very successfully.  An environment where you can really add value and make a difference if you enjoy working in an FMCG arena. Their staff retention in finance is incredible and the succession planning and scope for promotion is superb.  

They are looking for someone who is comfortable getting out into the business and building close working relationships with colleagues in non-finance areas at all levels of the management team.

You will be:

• Qualified ACCA or CIMA
• Able to demonstrate a track record of making positive change rather than accepting the status quo
• Someone who enjoys streamlining processes, enhancing reporting and providing credible information to drive improved business performance
• Career focused and naturally proactive
• Comfortable in a rapid paced, manufacturing environment where change is to be expected
• Technically competent with a good knowledge of financial and management accounting
• Highly IT literate
