We are recruiting for a Senior Finance Manager for a large FTSE listed manufacturing business with a major site based at Wissington, Norfolk. This is an absolutely key role within this site, the Senior Finance Manager is a pivotal part of the site leadership team driving a culture of performance and financial awareness, whilst supporting the strategic priority of lower operating and overhead costs.
The purpose of the role is to:
- Provide insight and support with a focus on the development and monitoring of the site's operational performance to minimise the business's cost base and maximise profitability
- Lead the site's financial accounting, reporting and control activities ensuring they are undertaken efficiently, effectively and in line with best practice.
- Use regular reviews and management meetings to engage and keep the team informed on performance to date and drive change
- The role is a key member of the site leadership team and, as such, has influence within the team over operational and investment decisions.
- The finance manager must ensure that robust controls are in place and adhered to. They are able to make decisions which may influence the way in which site processes run and interact and stop those which drive are non-compliant.
- Using financial and operational knowledge, work with the site operations and projects teams to calculate and verify financial benefits on large capital and CI projects
- Deliver core financial reporting processes including period end, forecasts and budgets for all areas of the site. Provide confidence in the accuracy and understanding of variances in period end results and movements in forecasts and budgets.
- Provide financial support and analysis for all capital investments, from idea conception through to post implementation review
- Drive delivery of Business Improvement Plans and Continuous Improvement initiatives
- Lead and develop the site finance team, developing a culture of high performance and continuous improvement, through 1 to 1's and personal development plans.
To apply for this role you will need to be a fully ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant with a great deal of experience in a large complex manufacturing environment with:
- Ability to think strategically and demonstrate financial acumen as well as the ability to achieve under commercial and time related pressure
- Expertise in creating an environment of continuous improvement
- Collaborative approach, able to build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders both on site at an operational level and at the Head office.
- Awareness of the external market place and the way it impacts the business
- Excellent communication, organisational skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to lead and motivate the site Finance team
