We are recruiting for a Head of Finance for an extremely interesting brand based in Peterborough who pride themselves on offering exceptional development opportunities into both very senior finance roles or into the operational or commercial side of the business. As The Head of Finance you will provide financial insight and support with a focus on the development and monitoring of performance to minimise the business's cost base and maximise profitability.

  • As a key member of the leadership team you will drive a culture of performance and financial awareness, whilst supporting the strategic priority of lower operating and overhead costs
  • Help drive the commercial agenda by supporting the Business Director with the development, negotiation and management of the various business cases and ongoing relationships between the business and external organisation whilst also concentrating on future business opportunities
  • Act as the Finance representative for R&D to increase the competitiveness and profitability of the business in a sustainable and environmentally acceptable manner.
  • Act as the project leader for the rollout of an innovation projects which provides customers with liquidity and ties them closer to the organisation
  • Deliver core financial reporting processes including period end, forecasts and budgets for all areas of the division. Provide confidence in the accuracy and understanding of variances in period end results and movements in forecasts and budgets
  • Provide financial support and analysis for all capital investments, from idea conception through to post implementation review
  • Drive delivery of Business Improvement Plans and Continuous Improvement initiatives
  • The role is a key member of the leadership team and, as such, has influence within the team over operational and investment decisions

To apply for this role you will need to be a fully ACA, ACCA or CIMA finance person with:

  • Post qualification experience including business partnering within a commercial manufacturing environment
  • Ability to think strategically and demonstrate financial acumen as well as the ability to achieve under commercial and time related pressure
  • Expertise in creating an environment of continuous improvement
  • Collaborative approach, able to build strong relationships and influence key stakeholders
  • Excellent communication, organisational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and complexity, and synthesise key messages
