A reputable business in the recruitment sector is looking for a senior level Payroll Clerk to join them in their City of London offices for a full-time contract role.
Responsibilities of your new role
The key duties of your new Payroll Clerk position will include:
- Processing payrolls from beginning to end in accordance with current legislation, policies and processes, and time lines, while ensuring that all payroll transactions are approved by an appropriately authorised person
- Collating change data, completing input sheets, and making sure peer checks are carried out
- Ensuring that payroll reports are created and distributed to the business and third parties as necessary
- Ensuring all key controls are adhered to
- Reporting errors to the relevant Team Lead as first point of contact
- Maintaining confidentiality and making sure sensitive files are protected appropriately
- Making ad-hoc payroll payments on occasion and supporting the Team Leads in responding to questions
- Maintaining up to date knowledge of Payroll legislation and internal policies
- Ensuring all payroll deadlines are met and quality levels are maintained
- Ensuring all payrolls are funded and paid on time and pensions, PAYE/NI, GAYE, SIP etc. are paid on time
- Ensuring all payroll journals are posted in line with month end timetable
- Assisting with monitoring the payroll inbox and dealing with queries in a timely manner
- Taking ownership of Payroll queries and ensuring you manage time management effectively
Candidate profile
To be successful in your application to this Payroll vacancy you must demonstrate:
- Substantial experience in a similar Payroll Clerk position
- Strong time management and organisation skills
- Highly attentive to detail
- Strong relationship building and communication skills
- Experience in the recruitment sector is beneficial
Salary
The successful Payroll Clerk will be offered £27,000 - £32,000 per annum plus a retention bonus.
