Project Accountant

Hanslope Park, Milton Keynes

£36,940 - £45,870 plus £1750 location allowance

You’re a stellar Project Accountant: you’re used to having end-to-end oversight of wide-ranging projects, and you never miss a thing when it comes to delivering value, meeting targets, and helping your colleagues make the best financial decisions. You’re building extensive skills in your field, but you still want to push yourself further.

We know how you feel. FCO Services are valued by government-level customers worldwide, who look to us to provide secure construction, logistics, digital solutions, and more. Protecting the UK’s interests globally, our organisation has witnessed incredible growth – but our ambitions are bigger still. With our profits set to grow from £160m to £200m in the next two years, we need to expand our Finance team to keep pace with our success and chart a course for the future.

That’s where you’ll come in as our new Project Accountant. Part of a new wave of energetic experts, you’ll be the financial drive behind a thriving business that protects people, information, and assets across the planet. And on top of a strong sense of purpose, you’ll find a home amongst our diverse family and enjoy all the perks and pension of a Civil Service career. In short? It’s your job, bigger.

Provide vital support for vitally important work:

Tasked with supporting our team of Finance Business Partners, you’ll provide the insight that aids our management planning and decision-making. Because we’re always winning new bids to serve customers around the world, you’ll have the chance to take on exciting projects, varying in size, complexity and geographical regions. With end-to-end financial oversight of all project activity, including revenue, cost of sales, expenses and capital expenditures, you’ll be helping to keep us financially on track, commercially worthwhile, and always delivering value for the UK tax payer – no matter the deadlines and challenges involved.

Apply experience where it has extraordinary impact:

At any given moment, we’re engaged in a vast range of projects across the globe, whether it’s refurbishing an embassy overseas, or helping a government body in the UK transfer their servers to the Cloud. With so much happening at once, we need someone who combines strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail; able to produce concise, informative reports and spreadsheets from large quantities of data. As well as a CIMA, ACCA, or ACA qualification and knowledge of ERP systems, you bring a logical, methodical approach to problem solving, as well as experience in a project accounting environment.

Enable business change and find life-changing rewards:

You’re facing world-class challenges here – but you’ll also find incredible perks, like our Civil Service pension, free parking, and well-equipped campus, as well as a rare quality of work-life balance. You’ll leave work firmly at the office and get home on time – and if you’ve got young children, you might even take advantage of our onsite OFSTED-registered nursery. This is an inclusive, supportive team where flexible working is the norm. We’re big on diversity, big on inclusion and big on giving you whatever you need to succeed. Like we said, it’s your job bigger – and your benefits too.

All our colleagues must be security cleared, so you will need to undergo a vetting process before joining.
