Commercial Accountant paying up to £40,000 based in Wigan working directly for the FD

Your new company
This organisation is an owner managed manufacturing company, with an extremely entrepreneurial owner who is very much involved in the day to day running of the business. They are continuously looking for new ways to develop and grow and have increased their turnover year on year, mainly through new product development. Next year they are forecasting 10 million, and this Commercial Accountant job is a new position recently created and will report directly into the Finance Director.

Your new role
This Commercial Accountant job will report directly into the Finance Director and is a new position to the business. Given the recent growth of the business, they are currently looking at their stock processes within finance to ensure all stock is accounted for in the correct way with stock adjustments, billing materials, booking in materials, incorporating labour costs on the stock value etc. This Commercial Accountant job will have direct responsibility for finances for the stock, working closely with the FD, providing costs and variance / inventory analysis and performance management, ensuring the stock value is as accurate as possible. You will also provide support to the FD when required on the monthly management accounts, VAT, and other general finance duties.

What you'll need to succeed
As a qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA accountant you must have experience in a manufacturing business and have had some exposure to stock costing systems and understand the importance of the stock value. As a person this job will only suit a candidate who is dynamic, ambitious, can adapt to change quickly, commercially aware and willing go above and beyond in their role. You must also have the ability to communicate at all levels and to interpret financial information to non-financial people
