Elevation Recruitment Group are currently seeking a dynamic and interpersonally strong Commercial Accountant for a successful manufacturing business in Hull as they look to strengthen their head office operation. They operate across four different locations in the UK manufacturing a core range of products for some high-profile clients.

Working as a key part of an established finance team of 10, this role of Commercial Accountant will report into the Commercial Operations Controller, you will be responsible for financial reporting and analysis for the commercial side of the business and will be responsible for the management of one member of staff.

This is a varied role with duties & responsibilities to include: -

-Providing business partnering support across the business
-Providing customer pricing to Commercial teams
-Attending and contributing to Forecast and NPD project meetings
-Completing product reviews (including post-launch reviews)
-Ensuring system accurately reflects product costing
-Analysing, reporting and understanding customer, business performance (Including sales and margins)
- Providing support to and challenging the Commercial and finance departments with regards to product costs and customer pricing
-Business margin protection (Maintenance and development)
-Reporting and understanding of purchase price variance
-Reporting and understanding of labour and material variance (Forecasting and liaison with procurement team)
-Liaising closely with Commercial team to ensure that Open Book Accounting Model Is accurate and recognise changes on a timely basis
-Ensuring that impact Open Book Accounting model is accurately reflected in the accounts
-Ensuring period end accounts in a timely and accurate manner
-Analysing and interrogating of budgets and forecast
-Approving of product costings prior to submission to commercial team
-Management of Assistant Management Accountant
-Any other ad-hoc projects/ duties as and when required

To be successful in this role, the candidate will possess the following skills and experiences: -

-Part Qualified or Fully Qualified (CIMA/ ACCA/ ACA)
-Ideally experience within an FMCG environment
-Excellent analytical and numerical skills
-Good commercial acumen
-Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel) and ERP systems
-Ability to work to deadlines whilst prioritising workload is essential
-Good stakeholder management skills
-Experience of managing a small team would be beneficial
-Ability to communicate effectively and build effective relationships
-Strong ability to apply best accounting practice at all times
