Finance Director

Outstanding opportunity to join a sector leading organisation in West Yorkshire as the Director of Finance.

Our client is looking to recruit an exceptional Head of Finance who will work in synergy with the Board team. The main responsibility of the role will be the effective delivery of financial reporting and controls along with management of the Finance department. Critically the role will ensure the appropriate controls are in place, develop and enhance the systems and eventually support and manage the commercial direction of this very profitable business. The role will take a key lead on a significant capital investment programme and will involve a great deal of commercial decision making.

The organisation is going through a period of significant change and restructure to meet the challenges of the future and this role will be critical to delivering that change programme.

You will be responsible for driving the strategic direction of the organisation and ensuring that it is sufficiently financed to meet those objectives. You will be working with the board to drive commercial insight. Additionally you will oversee the annual statutory accounts and manage the relationship with the external auditors. This role will also coordinate the transactional team and ensure the correct financial control is in place for optimum results. The role will also focus on strategic planning and positioning of the business in partnership with the Board team.

Essentially, this role will require a qualified CIMA/ACA/ACCA Accountant. You will be a proven senior operator with a strong commercial mind-set and strategic vision. Experience working in a change programme, turnaround or transformation environment is vital and you will be able to clearly demonstrate your contribution to a successful conclusion.

You will be comfortable communicating with leaders from other departments to get buy in from all sides.

Additionally you will have excellent communication skills, be a real self-starter capable of working as part of a busy team and combine both technical and commercial finance skills with leadership and strategy.
