Our client is an outstanding specialist school for pupils with severe and profound learning difficulties including those with an additional diagnosis of autism. The school comprises two campuses a short distance apart.

They are looking to appoint a new School Finance & Administration Manager to start as soon as possible. Previous school experience is not essential and this role could suit a Management Accountant looking to step in to the Education sector.

We are looking to recruit a Finance and Administration Manager to provide high quality financial and administrative support as part of a busy admin team at this thriving day school.

You will be responsible for managing the school’s SIMS system, leading on the SAGE accounting system to provide monthly financial information and reports to the school’s accountants and leadership team ensuring that all necessary financial regulations are in place and working as part of the admin team to include staff training, HR and payroll procedures.

You will be a qualified or part qualified accountant who is experienced in using SAGE or a similar accounting package to produce monthly management accounting information as well as having experience of supporting senior managers in respect of their responsibilities.

You may hold a recognised School Business Management qualification.
You will have excellent interpersonal and literacy skills.

A commitment to the pupils and meeting and protecting their complex needs is essential, as is the ability to work as part of a team.

Qualifications and Experience

A recognised accountancy qualification/School Business Management qualification/experience in Finance/Budget Management.

Experience of double-entry bookkeeping.

Sound working knowledge of financial polices/codes of practice/procedures and legal compliance, e.g. SFVS.

A working knowledge of HR systems and procedures.

Ability to manage the school budget on a day to day basis including close liaison with the school’s accountants regarding this.

Experience of using SAGE or similar accounting package - Essential
CIMA, ACCA or AAT – Preferred

CSBM or DSBM Certification – Not Essential
Experience within Schools – Not Essential
SIMS – Not Essential

Salary and Hours

Scale ME8 point 18 – 20 (£27,228 - £28,215 pro-rata)
35 hours per week, 41 weeks per year
Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 4.00pm
