£44,000 - £47,000 per annum

Our client is seeking to appoint a motivating and dynamic Head of Finance to provide operational leadership to the Finance Department as the College seeks to establish itself as a good provider of education in the Liverpool City Region. This role offers the successful candidate the opportunity to gain experience working strategically with the College Senior Leadership team. 

Accountable to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) the Head of Finance will: 

  • Have responsibility for the management of the College, and its subsidiaries, finances in accordance with the regulatory and legislative frameworks for Further Education Colleges, and recommended best practice.
  • Be accountable for all systems, processes and procedures relating to budgeting and finance.
  • Line management of senior members of the Finance team including management, supervision and professional development.
  • Working closely with Curriculum and non-curriculum managers you will support the development of improvements and efficiencies in financial management throughout the College.

The successful candidate must have: 

 

  • Good organisational skills and a track record of managing a centrally located Finance team within a multi-site organization
  • Excellent forecasting skills
  • A commercial outlook
  • An accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
  • Good communication skills and be able to explain complex financial terms in a simplified format, and explain the business implications of financial data to non-financial managers
