Finance Business Partner (9-12 month contract)

This is an excellent opportunity to work for one of Liverpool's most well established & highly regarded businesses (a £250m t/o business service provider) in a Finance Business Partner/Commercial Management Accountant role on an initial 9-12 month contract. Based in impressive offices on the outskirts of Liverpool, in this highly visible and commercial role your remit will involve Business Partnering with a broad range of budget holders across various operational teams within your own area of the company, with your responsibilities including:

• Preparation of the monthly management accounts and MI pack
• Commercial Analysis & Reporting
• Supporting & challenging budget holders and managers to ensure appropriate business decisions are made
• Financial Modelling and What if Scenario analysis, including assisting in the development of proposals & business cases
• Understanding potential risks to the company budget/forecast and escalating as required - with mitigating actions to resolve potential issues
• Working with Operations Business Partners to ensure that the company achieves maximum benefit from its resources, ensuring the right balance between economy, efficiency & effectiveness
• Ensuring there is accurate & timely actual/forecast financial information developed and reported within the Business, including presenting to the Board & the senior management team
• Working with the wider finance team to ensure accounts are updated as appropriate and business knowledge is shared within the team as appropriate
• Facilitating the annual budget process, ensuring credible budgets are developed that withstand scrutiny by the senior management team and the Board (supported by a clear audit trail)
• Ensuring operational and project teams understand, and are challenged upon, their use of resources to meet demand, performance targets and business plan profiles
• Supporting the operations teams in the development and challenge of operational workforce planning models to meet expected demand for services, including use of activity based costing techniques where appropriate
• Providing cover for other finance business partners where necessary

Applicants must be fully qualified CIMA, ACCA or ACA (or later stage studiers committed to qualifying) with a proven career record in a similar profile Finance Business Partner/Commercial Management Accountant role with previous experience of working closely with operations teams/budget holders. You will have the credibility, gravitas & communication skills required to explain financial information to non-financial audiences, and the commercial acumen & strength of character to have the influence required to successfully support the financial assessment of proposals/aid decision making. Advanced MS Excel skills and proven knowledge and experience of financial modelling techniques is essential.

Due to this role initially being a 9-12 month contract, my client is ideally looking for suitable candidates that are available to start immediately or at short notice. There is a very good chance that the role will either be extended beyond the initial contract dutation or even lead to a permanent opportunity for the successful applicant.
