I am working with a highly acquisitive private equity-backed technology business based in Central London. Since being founded three years ago, they have experienced exponential growth and have doubled in revenue over the last year. They have been acquiring businesses across the UK and mainland Europe, and have a robust pipeline for further acquisitions in the next few months. You will have a largely autonomous role and play a key part in supporting the CFO across this period of growth, transformation and change. 

The Role: 

Reporting into the CFO, you will be part of the senior management team and work aside the UK Finance Director and European Finance Manager/s. You will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring that the management and statutory financial information provided is timely and correct
  • Management and improvement of group consolidated reporting
  • Delivering improved profitability, cash generation and growth
  • Contributing to the strategic developments and expansion of the group
  • Integrating acquisitions rapidly and maintaining the controls during this period of growth
  • Responsibility for the group’s reporting to the board and banks, including consolidated management accounts, budgets, forecasts, cashflows, covenants etc.
  • Responsibility for the financial planning, three-year plans, budget and forecast models
  • Developing the group-wide accounting policies and procedures in compliance with UK GAAP
  • Working with the acquired businesses to produce accurate and timely information; also, improving efficiencies and streamlining processes. 
  • Liaising with external accountants, bankers and regulators
  • Compliance with tax matters and related financial governance and policies

About you:

  • Technically strong to ensure accurate financial information
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills to maintain strong relationships with operations
  • Strategically-minded and have the confidence to challenge numbers
  • Used to setting up systems and processes for monthly reporting, management information, KPIs and measures, accurate cash flows and projections around banking requirements
  • Fully qualified accountant – ACA, ACCA, CIMA.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK GAAP
  • Excellent Excel skills
  • Strong processes and systems abilities 
  • Commercial and confident communication skills 
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar group role
  • An ability to speak and understand French would be a plus
