Elevation Recruitment Group are currently working with a leading South Yorkshire employer with operations spanning globally as they look to recruit an ambitious Commercial Accountant to work from their Head Office location based in Sheffield.
This is a key role and you will be working closely with the Procurement and Supply Chain Director as well as other senior managers. You will be responsible for providing reporting and analysis to assist with pricing strategy and supplier negotiation. This will be a highly visible role which will involve challenging and influencing commercial decision making and effectively manage relationships with all stakeholders across the business.
This will be a varied role with duties and responsibilities to include:
* Support the Group Supply Chain and Procurement Department by providing financial information and advice as required
* Manage and influence the Group's pricing files, including costs for delivering the products to business premises (such as duty, freight and insurance)
* Assist in negotiations for product pricing
* Provide forecasts for future purchases to assist third party manufacturers in their planning and assist in negotiations
* Support the enforcement of terms within manufacturing agreements through the collation and supply of information
* Prepare rebate claims to suppliers and calculate the monthly Group rebate accruals
* Provide consolidated monthly reporting and analysis by product including costs and margins
* Analyse tooling costs and oversee the monitoring and auditing of tooling assets belonging to the Group
* Work with the New Product Development team to analyse new product financials, including identification of investment and CAPEX requirements and calculating payback periods and ROI
* Monitor and manage ongoing costs through the product development process
* Oversee financial aspects of the tendering process for new products being manufactured
* Work collaboratively across all business functions to share and implement best practice
* Support the business teams in making commercial decisions to ensure the achievement of business plan targets
* Review trends and challenge current performance, identifying risks and opportunities within the finance department and the wider business
* Provide appraisal and analysis of financial performance
* Involvement in the annual audit as required
* Involvement in the Group's Patent Box and R&D Tax Credits claims
* Any other ad hoc duties and reporting commensurate with the role
The successful candidate will need to be able to demonstrate the following skills and experiences:
* CIMA or ACCA Qualified
* Experience within a manufacturing business would be preferable
* Experience of cross functional working
* Ability to make recommendations, prioritise and good attention to detail
* Experience in operating in a commercial environment
* Excellent Excel and analytical skills with an ability to manipulate complex data
* Excellent interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
* Ability to recognise potential problems and identify proposed solutions
