We’re looking for a Management Accountant to join a thriving establishment near Carlisle.

Objectives

  • To provide assistance in the preparation of monthly and yearly reporting including reconciliation of the balance sheet.
  • To provide assistance to the senior management accountants and the Finance Director as required.
  • To take ownership, implement controls and manage the recording of the subcontract ledger.
  • To learn and undertake facilitation of the Navision accounting software and be responsible for the permissions and maintenance of the accounting system.

Main Responsibilities and Objectives

  • Provide assistance and support to the FD and other colleagues
  • Assist with the preparation of daily, weekly, monthly & Group cash flow forecasts and dealing with any queries.
  • Chasing up internal Quantity Surveyors to ensure timely invoicing of customers and hosting of the monthly WIP meeting.
  • Chasing up overdue debt from customers.
  • Facilitation, reconciliation and management of sub-contractors
  • Management of and execution of supplier payment runs.
  • Creating, managing and monitoring ad hoc project plans.
  • Assist with the preparation of budgeted income statement, balance sheet and cash flow statement.
  • On-going monitoring of project effectiveness.
  • Management and monitoring of Project accounting processes.
  • To liaise with other departments as required ensuring the reporting deadlines are met.
  • Due to the nature of the role, which will support the division and broader Group, there will be a need to support in several general, non-specific areas to maintain the success of the business.
  • Communicate with external advisors, auditors etc.
  • To facilitate system training within the business
  • Carry out any other duties as directed by your Line Manager
  • Line management responsibility

Key Attributes

  • Knowledge of accounting standards and recent revisions to standards
  • Experience of cash forecasting and budgeting
  • Good IT Skills (Microsoft Excel)
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Good numerical and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work to deadlines
  • Evision business system skills are desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent

Experience        

  • Experience of budgeting and control environment
  • Experience of the construction industry desirable but not essential

Salary: £30,000 – £35,000
