Operational Audit Manager

My exclusive client, with its UK HO and Business Centre based in Warwick, is the UK market leader in its Manufacturing/Engineering field. This highly profitable and v well managed and professionally run company has £350m t/o in the UK and is an autonomously managed business within a larger prestigious global Industrial group.

Due to ongoing growth and development of the UK business as well as the global recent implementation of the latest Movex ERP system, this new position has been created to achieve and maintain the highest quality standards with global Group Internal Governance policies as well as having a strong Operational/Commercial emphasis on addressing real business issues in order to improve efficiency and positively impact on bottom line profitability.

This is designed to be a tremendous career opportunity for a high quality/potential ACA or ACCA looking to make either their 1st or 2nd move into Industry having trained and qualified in a medium-large firm. The intention is for the selected candidate to "make their mark" in establishing this key new role within the UK business operations with a view to then moving into a more senior line management role within 2-3 years maximum - either at the UK Business Centre here in Warwick or within one of the other 3 main operating UK business locations.

Reporting directly to the UK FD, key responsibilities for this newly created role will include:

* Develop and maintain compliance with the Group Internal Control Framework.

* Develop and maintain UK Risk Register

* Close liaison with the IT Director to ensure IT control requirements are met.

* Working closely with the 3 site FD's and business managers to ensure the full operational functionality and benefits of the new ERP system is achieved in a consistent fashion across the UK businesses.

* Develop the internal audit process and carry out site audits at these 3 other business locations on a monthly/bi-monthly basis - c 25%-30% travel maximum away from Warwick Business Centre.

* Operate as first point of contact with external auditors on matters of process control.

* Operate as a key "sounding board" to the UK FD and carry out a range of ad hoc investigations and new initiatives on behalf of the Board.

* Develop strong knowledge of Manufacturing, Planning, Logistics and Warehouse processes.

Candidate profile:

* Qualified ACA or ACCA with a strong academic and professional track record, seeking a progressive career move into Industry/Commerce.

* Trained and qualified with a medium-large Practice with previous experience with ERP systems.

* My client will also consider a qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/IIA) who has trained and developed their career to date within Industry/Commerce in an Internal Audit function, looking to take the next step into a Management level role.

* Excellent communication skills, professionalism and integrity.

* Overall, possess the potential and ambition to do a great job in establishing this key new function within the UK and go on to achieve significant career progression ultimately up to Director level.

My client offers a highly competitive starting salary up to £55k plus a Company Car or Car allowance and an excellent consistent 20% annual bonus scheme plus generous Pension and benefits package.
