Exciting opportunity for a hit the ground running and career focused keen to learn individual.
My client is going through a lot of interesting change; this role can offer you exposure to a lot of key accounting functions such as IFRS, weekly / monthly reporting, improving processes, information analyse and reporting.
You will report to the Financial Controller and working within a small finance team covering all aspects of accounts production.
Working autonomously to tight reporting deadlines this role requires someone experienced in accounts preparation. Responsible for ensuring management accounts are completed whilst maintaining high levels of accuracy. There is a desire to move to weekly P&L production once the IT infrastructure allows.
Main responsibilities:
* Calculation of accruals and prepayments
* Maintenance of detailed P&L schedules to reduce risk of errors and omissions
* Maintenance of fixed asset register and full balance sheet reconciliations
* Liaison with outsourced purchase ledger provider to manage purchase ledger cut off
* Assistance with preparation of budgets and forecasts
* Providing support as required to the Financial Controller
The ideal candidate:
* Preferably ACCA or CIMA qualification
* Proven ability to work to tight reporting deadlines and effectively manage own workload
* Prior experience of a software implementation and driving process improvements would be beneficial
* Ability to prepare monthly management accounts to a high degree of accuracy
* Good analytical skills in understanding and explaining variances from budget
* Experience of using standard accounting packages and can demonstrate ability to grasp new systems following standard training
* Fully conversant with Microsoft Office including advanced knowledge of Excel
* Good communication skills with internal and external customers with both finance and non-finance backgrounds
